A project to bring low cost telephone service to rural areas using Asterisk and a WiFi mesh network.
The goal is to provide a complete solution for communities and Villages to take charge of their own telecommunication needs.

The MeshPotato includes mesh network (batman) and Asterisk in a weather proof casing and using only 2-3 watts. It can be runned on a small battery and a solar panel. The Project is sponsored by the Shuttleworth Foundation.
