Russian NTC Selects VocalTec as Preferred Supplier

New Telephone Company (NTC), a triple-play carrier headquartered in Vladivostok, Russia, selected VocalTec as their preferred supplier for the roll-out of their Next Generation VoIP network. Officials with VocalTec said that the company’s Voice-over-IP solutions were selected to power NTC's migration to packet-based telephony and serve as the core voice platform for NTC's triple-play offering.

Company officials said that VocalTec's solution fully satisfies all local regulatory requirements and allowed NTC to launch their VoIP service in record time.

According to company officials, NTC deployed a broad range of VocalTec's Essentra suite of solutions, including Essentra BAX, Application Server and class 5 softswitch, providing cost-effective residential and enterprise VoIP services.

"We are impressed with VocalTec's strong presence and well-established support infrastructure throughout Russia and in our region of operation," said Timur Gilyazetdinov, CIO at NTC, in a statement.

Gilyazetdinov said that VocalTec's reliable and field-proven solutions enable the company to completely upgrade network infrastructure and offer the customers a range of innovative features and services.

He said that VocalTec has proven itself as being a serious supplier and the company appreciates their professional business conduct.

"By moving to an IP-based network, NTC can increase their return on investment, introduce enhanced services to the market and stay ahead of the competition," said Ido Gur, president and CEO at VocalTec.

Gur said that the company is honored to have been selected as NTC's strategic partner for VoIP and look forward to the continued cooperation.

“We believe that this customer win further strengthens our foothold in the Russian VoIP market," he said.

VocalTec Communications is a global provider of carrier-class Voice-over-IP and Convergence solutions for fixed and wireless service providers.

Back in April VocalTec Communications had announced that Telecommunications Group Vega, a Ukrainian telecom operator, has deployed VocalTec’s solutions for the provision of Class-5 VoIP services across 5 regions in the Ukraine. The project was concluded in partnership with Priocom, a leading systems integrator in the Ukraine.

Vega will deploy VocalTec’s Essentra BAX, VoIP Application Server, allowing Vega to provide its customers with advanced IP telephony services, including an extensive set of subscriber calling features.

The initial deployment will consist of a centralized installation from which Vega will provide an enhanced telephony service nationwide. In addition, Vega will implement VocalTec’s Essentra EX, VoIP Peering Manager, providing enhanced VoIP routing capabilities for optimal routing-plan management, allowing Vega to benefit from an efficient utilization of network resources.
